$7.25/hour is $15,000 per year. That’s far from a living
wage.
While I’m still working hard to raise the wage in Congress, we have a real
chance to make it happen in Michigan through a question on the general
election ballot this November.
If this ballot measure is successful, it will be a model for the rest of
the nation and prove there is real momentum behind a fair minimum wage.
But One Fair Wage must gather 340,000 valid signatures by June 1 — leaving
them with just 4 days to make it happen.
So today, I'm asking: [ [link removed] ]Will you split a $3 contribution
between One Fair Wage Action and my campaign to help us keep up the fight
for a fair minimum wage in this country?

The ballot question that One Fair Wage is fighting for in Michigan would
raise the minimum wage in the state to $15 per hour by 2027, index the
minimum wage to inflation, and eliminate the subminimum wage for tipped
workers.
That’s just good policy — and I know from personal experience. I helped
make Seattle the first major city in the country to pass a $15/hour
minimum wage. Working families and the local economy thrived. The city was
even named the best place for business and careers, easily dispelling the
corporate-backed myth that businesses would fail.
We can't wait any longer if we're going to heal the wounds of this
devastating pandemic and help working families stay afloat in this time of
economic uncertainty. Raising the wage will alleviate the economic
pressures communities face, give 27 million workers a raise, and lift
nearly one million Americans out of poverty.
[ [link removed] ]As Michigan goes, so goes the nation. Split a $3
contribution between One Fair Wage and my campaign today, so we have the
resources to deliver a full and fair minimum wage to working families all
across the country.
Contribute $3
Twenty states just raised their minimum wage going into 2021 — including
Florida, while voting for Donald Trump. Don’t let anyone tell you this
policy is unpopular. We will win.
In solidarity,
Pramila
