EVENT (ONLINE): ARMS FAIRS AND DATA REPOSITORY LAUNCH
_Wed 8th June 2022, 6pm_
ARMS FAIRS ARE HELD ALL OVER THE WORLD and are where companies exhibit all
types of military, security and policing weapons and equipment. The fairs
often publish lists of all the companies exhibiting and information on the
weapons they sell.
OMEGA RESEARCH FOUNDATION and CAAT have COLLATED THIS DATA IN ONE PLACE and
it is available for all to access.
JOIN US with speaker / panellists: RACHEL SMALL (WORLD BEYOND WAR, CANADA)
and DR. CHRIS ROSSDALE (ACADEMIC AND AUTHOR OF "RESISTING MILITARISM:
DIRECT ACTION AND THE POLITICS OF SUBVERSION") with moderator HELEN CLOSE
(OMEGA) to find out more about arms fairs, the resistance to them, and this
new resource.
More info via the CAAT Events Page [3], where you can register (free) to
get the link for the event [4].

ACTION REPORT: BAHRAIN SPORTS WASHING AT WINDSOR HORSE SHOW, "WHY ARE YOU
HOSTING DICTATORS?"
CAMPAIGNERS FROM CAAT joined BAHRAIN INSTITUTE FOR RIGHTS AND DEMOCRACY
(BIRD) earlier this month (15th May) outside the WINDSOR HORSE SHOW.
BAHRAIN HAS A LONG HISTORY OF HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES, yet the leaders of the
regime continue to receive invitations from the Queen to this prestigious
event in the grounds of Windsor Castle. So, campaigners were there to ask
why.
Find out what happened [5], and the answer to the question, "your Majesty,
why are you hosting dictators [5]?" via the CAAT News page [5].

SAVE THE DATE: NO TO FARNBOROUGH ARMS FAIR (MON 18 JULY 2022)
ARMS COMPANIES LOCKHEED MARTIN, BAE SYSTEMS, RAYTHEON, LEONARDO, ELBIT
SYSTEMS, RAFAEL and many more will be exhibiting their deadly wares in
FARNBOROUGH in JULY. The event has previously featured a public airshow,
which has now become an industry recruiting day.
OPPOSITION IS EXPECTED from groups worried about the impact of the weapons
being sold into conflicts around the world, not least in YEMEN and
PALESTINE.
So, please save the date! And if you would like to get involved with
organising an action, contact
[email protected] or reply to this note.
More info about who is exhibiting can be found via CAAT's Farnborough
International page [6] and for this year's event on CAAT's Farnborough 2022
data page [7].

WITHOUT YOU, THERE COULD BE NO CAAT.
Whether it's creating new research, getting the word out with talks and
events, or taking to the streets to say no to militarism, YOUR SUPPORT
MAKES THE WORK WE DO POSSIBLE. And brings the day forward when the
international arms trade and the suffering it causes is brought to an end.
If you would like to help with our work, you can make a donation or set up
a direct debit [8] via the CAAT Donate page [8].
Thank you for your continuing support!
