Dear Friend,

Public debate this week has yet again questioned the honesty and behaviour of our elected leaders, and how online misinformation is affecting our lives.

Support the fight against bad information

Here at Full Fact, I’ve given evidence to MPs and MSPs at Westminster and Holyrood. Our team has fact checked politicians including the Prime Minister, successfully demanded corrections from The Times and Daily Star, and been cited as a reliable source of information by the Office for Statistics Regulation.

We know we don’t stand alone. In the last 48 hours more than 800 of you have written to your MP in support of an Online Safety Bill that properly tackles the harms of bad information and safeguards freedom of expression. Thank you.

It’s you and thousands of other Full Fact readers and supporters that allow us to make the impact that we do. And one of the most important things you can do to support independent fact checking is to make a donation.

I'll chip in to support an honest debate

Any donation you can afford will help us continue our work. It’s thanks to the generosity of thousands of individual readers like you that we can stand up to powerful politicians and media organisations and demand honesty.

The news this week was dominated by Sue Gray’s report. Public trust in politics was broken long before she began her investigation. But like you, we’re not prepared to put up with dishonesty.

I'll donate to help hold politicians accountable

On behalf of the whole Full Fact team—thank you for your support.

Will Moy—Chief executive

PS You can also join 2,500 others and become a regular Full Fact supporter. A monthly donation of £7 would make a huge difference to our work in these times.
