Hi John,

As our country reels from three horrific shootings in the past few weeks, Republicans are already resorting to their standard NRA-derived talking points and callous excuses why they refuse to take any action whatsoever to curb gun violence. It's reprehensible.

They offer some tweets and a few performative statements, but children and victims of gun violence don't need more hollow words, thoughts, or prayers — they need action.

Sadly, Mike Garcia has proven he is willing to put the NRA and gun lobby ahead of doing what it takes to save lives. It's pure cowardice.

Here's where he stands:

-He voted against closing a simple background check loophole that could have stopped the recent shootings in Buffalo, Laguna Woods, and Uvalde;
-He has an "A" rating from the NRA;
-And the gun lobby spent over $65,000 to get Mike Garcia into Congress in 2020.

Gun violence was the leading cause of death of kids and teens in 2020. Yet, time and time again, we watch Republicans block even the most basic regulations to keep us safe.

The precedence after mass shootings in our country speaks for itself.

Sandy Hook? Nothing. Virginia Tech? Nothing. Columbine? Nothing. Even right here, in our own backyard in Santa Clarita at Saugus High School, Mike Garcia did nothing.

Tragedy after tragedy, there is no death count too high for Republicans to finally get a backbone and do what's right for our children. We deserve better.
