Hey John. It’s Aarica — I help lead finances for Team Cori.
My job is to make sure our fundraising and finances stay on track to keep Cori in Congress.
Especially after our corporate-backed opponent launched his first round of attack ads against Cori this month and news broke that special interests are spending record amounts this election to defeat progressive candidates — I told the team we have to raise more money than we anticipated to make sure we’re prepared to fight.
So today, after I went through our campaign expenses and fundraising numbers, I calculated that we need to raise $30,000 more by the end of May to make sure we’re ready for every attack ahead of us.
I want to be realistic and say that I know that a lot of us are going to be on vacation this weekend. That’s why I’m asking for a quick favor:
It’s more critical than ever that we make sure our grassroots fundraising stays strong.
Not only does our fundraising power our campaign’s organizing work to keep Cori in Congress — it represents the movement of people who are rising up to support bold, progressive change.
Especially in the past weeks, we’ve seen the urgent need to elect and support candidates like Cori who aren’t afraid to demand the policies our communities urgently need.
The harsh reality is that Democrats agree we need to protect abortion access, but Cori was one of the few who has been calling on the Senate to abolish the filibuster so we can make that possible and sharing her own abortion story to call for action.
A majority of Democrats agree that climate change is a problem, but Cori knows that talking isn’t enough, so she went straight to work in Congress to introduce legislation like the Green New Deal for Cities.
Lots of Democrats agree that our policing systems are broken in America, but Cori led this work by introducing the People’s Response Act — a bill that would transform public safety and invest in trauma-informed, community-based responses that would truly keep people safe.
Cori is leading a bold, progressive movement in Congress and it’s crucial that we show her our support now leading up to Cori’s primary. Even giving $5 toward our $30,000 goal makes a big difference as we prepare for a fundraising slowdown this weekend.
Together,
Aarica
