[1]Mark Kelly for Senate

Hello,

I lost the very first election I ran in. It was 2002, and I lost my New Hampshire State Senate race.

I didn’t let that loss deter me — just like I don’t let Republican attacks deter me now.

Let me be clear, because there is so much at stake: We cannot lose this seat. Not this time. Not with Roe v. Wade hanging on by a thread.

But Rachel Maddow said I have a difficult reelection fight ahead of me, and a recent poll shows me down by two points to an extreme anti-choice opponent.

I ran for office to make a difference for as many people who needed my help as I could and to ensure that every American has the opportunity to succeed, no matter who they are.

My 2002 and 2004 elections are well in the rearview mirror. Today, the stakes are so much higher. And alarmingly, a recent poll shows me down by two points.

If we lose this seat, Democrats forfeit Senate control to Mitch McConnell who, just a couple of days ago, suggested that if he’s in charge we could be heading for a national abortion ban.

I’m emailing today, everyone, because I need your help.

Will you please split a grassroots donation — of any amount you can — between my campaign and Mark Kelly’s before our end-of-month deadline to hold our seats and control of the Senate?

Winning and preserving our most basic fundamental rights truly takes all of us coming together, and I’m counting on you. Thank you for getting involved.

With every good wish,
Maggie Hassan
