Beto showed how to play offense

When Beto O’Rourke interrupted Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's press conference full of pro-NRA lies on Wednesday, he showed what it's like for Democrats to play offense and not run away from a fight.

"The time to prevent the next shooting is right now, and you are doing nothing. You said this is unpredictable. It is totally predictable when you choose to do nothing," he said -- making clear what he will do if he is elected governor instead.

Turn on images to see Beto O'Rourke fight like all Democrats should.

After Beto was escorted out of the press conference, he continued in the parking lot:

"These kids died because the governor of the state of Texas, the most powerful man in the state, chose to do nothing. After every one of these, he holds a press conference just like this -- and I wish to Hell when he came to El Paso that someone would have stood up and held him to account and confronted him and shocked the conscience of this state into doing something, because if we do nothing, we will continue to see this. Year after year, school after school, kid after kid. This is on all of us, every single one of us to do something."
