Dear John, Horrific physical and psychological violence is being unleashed against our working class. An unrestrained pandemic has been partially eclipsed by war in Ukraine. Then there’s the white supremacist terror in Buffalo, and the mass murder of children in Texas. The extreme right responded to the Texas massacre with unfounded claims that the shooter was an undocumented immigrant or transgender, scapegoating these communities with cheap conspiracies to protect the profits of the weapons manufacturers. Earlier this month, the war on women reached a new level. Our response remains constant. We will fight for unity, from the streets to the ballot box and back again. This June 18th we need your presence at the Poor People’s March in DC. What’s holding you back? If you cannot join us in DC for the Poor People’s March and Low Wage Workers’ Assembly, please donate $50 to help us fund a comrade’s journey or their overnight stay. This Juneteenth weekend, we are helping to build a national force against the violence of racism, sexism, homophobia, poverty, war, and ecological devastation. Will you be there? If that is not possible, will you help build it? This movement must be built on our streets. It must be organized in our workplaces, on our campuses, and in our neighborhoods. And it must march to the polls in November. The most reactionary sections of monopoly capital are sowing poison in the minds of many. They aim to dismantle every democratic right our people have won through bitter struggle over many generations. And they have plans for November. Only an independent, working-class-led and politically oriented movement can defeat these forces. On June 18 we are marching. Please help us get there. In struggle, CP National Board |
