Our commitment to transparency Convention 2022: How MassGOP delegates voted May 27, 2022 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Evan Lips, communications director 617-523-5005 ext. 245 WOBURN -- Citing a commitment to "absolute transparency," Massachusetts Republican Party Chairman Jim Lyons released on Friday a breakdown of last Saturday delegate vote information. "As Republicans, we've been waging an endless fight for transparency from a secretive Democrat-dominated state Legislature, so it's only fair that we practice what we preach," Lyons said. "Those who are curious about how their Republican delegates voted last Saturday, whether their delegate is a legislator or a Republican town committee member, can now go to our website to find out that information, or simply click on one of the links below." Meanwhile, candidates for lieutenant governor Leah Allen Cole and Kate Campanale finished 1-2, with Cole outdistancing Campanale by nearly the exact same number. Candidates were required to obtain at least 15 percent of delegates' votes in order to qualify for the primary in September. "We are so grateful for everyone who joined us last Saturday in Springfield for what was a very special convention," Lyons said. "The MassGOP is proud to offer voters a true contrast in choices with a slate of candidates that refuse to fall in line with the status quo on Beacon Hill."
