With a heart overshadowed by this week’s tragedy, I still wish to congratulate the students, parents, school faculty and staff on the work they have achieved this year. The impact of a good teacher is immeasurable. Teachers are professionals performing an essential and difficult job that often comes with immense pressure. I hope they realize it does not go unnoticed.

While the challenges around education are present and many teachers currently have low satisfaction, the vast majority of Utah parents have a strongly favorable impression of their local schools and teachers. ([link removed])

As the daughter of educators, I know the dedication and sacrifice required of teachers. I am committed to providing educators the support they need.

Instead of asking you for a donation to our campaign today, I invite you to hug your children a little longer or send a teacher an encouraging note.

Thank you to all who worked tirelessly to make this year a success. Thank you to teachers and staff, to community members who became substitute teachers, volunteers who rallied to support their schools, and parents who were there every step of the way.
