Kamala Harris is used to being written off.

When Kamala ran for Attorney General of California in 2010, nobody thought it would be possible. In fact, on election night, her opponent gave a victory speech. The San Francisco Chronicle even published a headline declaring him the winner.

Three weeks later, Kamala had eked it out -- winning by less than a point, or just over 74,000 votes out of more than 9.6 million cast.

Time and again, Kamala Harris has defied the odds. I’ve seen it firsthand. And that’s why I’m reaching out to you today.

This race for president has been no different. They’ve counted Kamala -- and our team -- down and out. They’re going to write early “obituaries” about our campaign, saying we don’t have what it takes.

The pundits, the press, and the talking heads will continue to ask -- like they always have -- whether America is “ready.” Ready for someone like Kamala -- a Black woman, the daughter of immigrants, a proud HBCU graduate -- to be president of the United States. They’ll pontificate about whether the voters will see Kamala as “electable.”

Don’t listen.

I’m reaching out to you today to ask you to double down on your commitment to Kamala, and to our underdog campaign that’s going to take this fight directly to Donald Trump and win in 2020.

If you’re with us, rush your first donation to Kamala’s historic campaign for president today. Show Kamala -- and the world -- that you’re in her corner for the fights ahead.

Over the years, I’ve seen Kamala weather hit after hit, only to get back up to keep fighting. And we’ve all seen what it’s like when she’s in direct pursuit of justice -- just ask Jeff Sessions, Bill Barr, or Brett Kavanaugh.

In 2020, we’re going to need a candidate with a proven record of fighting for justice to deliver a victory against Donald Trump in November of 2020. I believe that candidate is Kamala Harris.

Thank you for believing in us -- and in Kamala.
