The award-winning festival with a reputation for bringing the hottest new talent to city-centre stages is back this weekend.

While featuring the best upcoming acts from across the country, the festival will also feature a selection homegrown Notts talent. One wristband gets you into gigs at the following local venues: Nottingham: Rock City, BETA, Black Cherry Lounge, The Level, The Loft at The Level, Rescue Rooms, Red Room, Stealth, The Bodega Bar, The Bodega Upstairs, Rough Trade, Spankies, Percy Picklebackers, The Malt Cross, 31K, The Playwright, The Angel, Jamcafé. Check out the set times.

Brighton post-punk band Squid, and rapper and songwriter Ghetts are heading up the bill, along with Alfie Templeman, Baby Queen, Nine8 Collective, Just Mustard, Jockstrap, and Keg. Lime Garden, and Miso Extra.

New dates: Jubilee Exhibition

Old Market Square


New dates have been announced for the Jubilee exhibition in Old Market Square.

Entitled 70 Glorious Years – The Queen in Nottingham will be a large format open-air photographic exhibition.

A collection of 22 images, celebrate the Queen’s visits to Nottingham over the last 70 years from the Coronation tour in 1955 through to her most recent visit for the Diamond Jubilee in 2012. The images also look at how Nottingham people have celebrated significant royal occasions over the years.

Nottingham City Council has partnered with major local employer Capital One, and with Nottingham BID to announce plans to fill the Old Market Square with jubilee colour.

From Wednesday 1 June, a replica Coronation crown will adorn the front of Nottingham’s Council House. Below, in Old Market Square a giant floral jubilee-themed 70 will be created with over 5,100 silver, blue and purple plants.

Post-installation, on 10 June, all the plants will be bought back to Woodthorpe Park Plant Shop to be sold to customers with some to be donated to local care homes for the elderly.

Spontaneous Potter is an entirely improvised wizarding comedy play, based on suggestions from the budding witches, wizards and their families in the audience. Hilarity ensues as entirely new Potter adventures are magically improvised on the spot – with live musical accompaniment! 

There's a show for the kids (2pm) (8+), and one just for adults (16+) (7.30)

The Nottingham Open is one of the key grass court events as top male and female stars warm up for Wimbledon.

Mutua Madrid Open winner and world No.7 Ons Jabeur (Pictured) makes her return to British grass courts after winning the Birmingham Classic last year.

Two former Nottingham Open champions are also set to return - 2019 winner Caroline Garcia, and 2015 victor Ana Konjuh. Top men's seed is Jiri Vesely (CZE)

On 4 and 5 June, kids go free during qualifying as part of the Family Fun Weekend. Adults tickets are just £6, so don't miss out on some great tennis and lots of fun activities for the kids too!

Woodthorpe Park Centenary

On Thursday 1 June 1922, Woodthorpe Park was officially opened by the Lord Mayor Of Nottingham. On Wednesday, the public is invited to a party to celebrate the park centenary.

From 10am - 4pm, visitors can enjoy croquet and games on the lawn, children's activities, and musical performances from Carlton Male Voice Choir. There will also be historical talks and walks, and a charity cake sale.

The Lord Mayor, and The Sheriff of Nottingham will also be in attendance. This is a free event.

Meadowlands will be staged at Victoria Embankment in two-weeks time.

Already a legendary live performer, headliner - Gerry Cinnamon’s gigs have become folklore.
