In times of national despair, it can be difficult to find the right words to express our feelings.
In times of great tragedy, it can be challenging to know how, when, or where to make your voice heard.
But, when we come together as communities, our collective voice pierces through the darkness. Through our fellow Americans, we can find our voice and make it heard.
The outpour of support I saw from Utahns to the parents and families of the 19 students and two teachers who were brutally murdered at Robb Elementary on Tuesday brought me great pause.
Despite the pain and grief we all experienced this week, I was deeply encouraged by our community's ability to uplift each other's voices, offer words of kindness, and call for action.
Today, instead of our weekly recap, I wanted to write to you as my community and say: I hear you.
Your voice is loud, your words are clear, and I am committed to finding a path forward.
