Alaska – The legislature passed a Tobacco 21 bill that also enacts a 35% wholesale tax on e-cigarettes. The bill now heads to the governor’s desk for consideration.

Oklahoma – Gov. Stitt signed into law a bill that eliminates the fines for minors under the age of 21 who purchase, receive or possess tobacco products. Instead, violators must complete an education or tobacco use cessation program approved by the State Department of Health. The law goes into effect November 1, 2022.
