PRIMARY UPDATE: TX-28 is too close to call. We made it this far and have a lot to be proud of. While a recount unfolds, invest in three other critical races on the horizon. <[link removed]>
Friend —
Jessica Cisneros’s race against Henry Cuellar is going to a recount. Only 177 votes separate them right now, and with hundreds of ballots left to be counted, the Cisneros campaign is going to fight for every vote to be counted.
While we wait, here’s what we know: Bend the Arc supporters like you joined voters across the country to help Jessica’s campaign catch up with Cuellar’s corporate war chest, allowing her team to double their GOTV program before Tuesday.
That’s something to celebrate — rising up with a progressive challenger who faced millions of dollars in attacks from Super PACs. And going toe to toe with an opponent, Henry Cuellar, who was backed by the Democratic establishment despite being rated “A” by the NRA and voting against unions and abortion rights.
The status quo — with a Supreme Court preparing to overturn Roe, book bannings, political attacks on LGBTQ youth, mass shootings, and an emboldened white nationalist Republican party — is not an option.
We can’t give up on electing champions who will fight for real, bold solutions to the systemic issues of racial and economic inequity that keep our society broken and disproportionately harm people of color.
Our current PAC endorsees are also gamechangers in close, competitive races — contribute today to help them win and make change. <[link removed]>

While we support Jessica’s recount, here are three upcoming critical races where our PAC endorsees can help us keep Democratic control of the House and Senate, and build a deeper progressive bench in Congress.
Cheri Beasley is running for Senate in North Carolina — after a career of service as a public defender and judge, she became the first Black woman to serve as Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, and is fighting for access and opportunity, no matter your zip code. Contribute to Cheri Beasley. <[link removed]>
Jay Chen is running for CA-45’s House seat — the son of Taiwanese immigrants, Jay is running for Congress to continue his work fighting the bigotry and hate crimes targeting the AAPI community and too many other communities. Contribute to Jay Chen. <[link removed]>
Christy Smith is running for CA-27's House seat — a seasoned Assemblywoman who has fought for education and worker’s rights, Christy has one of the best opportunities to flip a seat from red to blue in a rematch that she only lost by 333 votes last cycle. Contribute to Christy Smith. <[link removed]>
Contribute to their campaigns today to support these champions in three of the most critical races around the country. <[link removed]>
Our electoral work as a movement of Jews and allies can build a country where everyone is safe and free, no matter their race, faith, or origin — instead of a future where white nationalist Republicans have legislative control. Thank you for joining us for this urgent fight.
Onward,
