G'day John,
Last Saturday saw the Australian people deliver a stunning rebuke
to the major parties with the primary vote of both the Coalition and
Labor taking a hit and minor parties and independents recording a big
increase in support.
Contributing to this significant swing against the majors, One
Nation managed the largest increase in support of any established
political party in the lower house.
While the Liberal/National Coalition has been removed from power
and replaced with a Labor government, one beholden to the Greens in
the Senate, Labor's agenda has also been rejected by voters.
Despite a new Government being formed and sworn in after Labor
secured support from the Greens and Teals in the lower house, the
final results of the election are far from clear, especially in the
Senate.
At this stage, Senator Hanson remains the favourite in the race for
the final Queensland senate position and One Nation also remains in
contention in additional states.
The final results will be determined in the coming weeks and then
we shall know who will join continuing One Nation Senator Malcolm
Roberts in our federal parliament where we will be holding the
Government to account.
We will have more to say once the final senate results are clear so
until then thank you again to all our volunteers and candidates, your
tireless efforts are appreciated more than you can imagine.
