Hello,

This week, Russia banned 963 Americans from entering the country. The list included President Biden, Vice President Harris, Secretary Clinton, Speaker Pelosi, and even Republicans like Kevin McCarthy and Marco Rubio.

Notably missing: Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and my opponent Chuck Grassley. Why would war criminal Vladimir Putin be okay with those three? Why the red carpet for those comrades?

Chuck Grassley was formally endorsed and embraced by Putin’s greatest ally, Donald Trump, and his silence has been golden. He was complicit in failing to properly investigate Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election. And Grassley has fueled Russian disinformation theories about Ukraine over and over again.

By not refuting lies while actively spreading disinformation, Grassley has become central to the dysfunction and dissension in America. His vote against a bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6th insurrection will forever stain his legacy.

The fate and future of our democracy are in grave danger, and I know I will be on the right side of history. Someone should ask Senator Grassley, “Whose side are you on?”

I served our country in the United States Navy for almost 4 decades. When I defeat Chuck Grassley, I will be the most senior military person ever-elected to the U.S. Senate. You can be sure I’ll earn my ban from Russia by standing up for democracy here at home and abroad.

But Chuck Grassley just launched his first massive TV ad buy attacking me, and we need to raise $50,000 to respond and fight back. I’m not taking a dime of corporate PAC money, so if I’m going to win and send Grassley packing, I need grassroots donors like you to give now:

Please, may I count on you to give $5 or more right now – every dollar you can afford – to help me defeat Chuck Grassley, turn Iowa blue, and protect our Democratic majority in the Senate?

If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

There’s only one way to take on all of Grassley’s special interest money, and it’s with grassroots support from people like you now.

Thank you for everything you do,

Mike Franken, U.S. Navy (ret.)
