The tragedy this week in Uvalde, Texas is yet another example of a preventable mass shooting. Our hearts go out to the families who lost their loved ones, and our attention now turns to Congress with one simple message: now is the time to act .

We are tired of mass tragedies like this taking place once every few weeks in the United States. We do not want to live in a country where the flag is always at half-mast not because we are plagued by unpreventable tragedy, but because our elected officials refuse to take action.
