Rep. Donald Payne Jr. has been going around pretending to be an advocate for housing justice.

Nothing could be further from the truth. 

Rep. Payne Jr. is funded by the National Association of Realtors — a PAC that’s lobbied AGAINST the eviction moratorium and has been a fierce opponent of housing justice.

And that’s just the donations he’s taken since 2020. Since he first ran for Congress in 2012, Payne Jr. has taken OVER $30,000 from the National Association of Realtors.

Payne Jr. is trying to have his cake and eat it too. He’s happy to stand next to Biden officials talking about a plan he didn’t write and claim to care about housing justice — as long as he doesn’t have to take any action and risk offending his corrupt corporate donors. 

Meanwhile, when the eviction moratorium came under threat last year, I went down to Washington D.C. to stand with progressive leaders like Cori Bush and do the real work in the fight for housing justice.
