Hi John,
As the polls closed in Texas on Tuesday, we watched anxiously as the votes were tallied for our candidates, Claudia Zapata (TX-21) and Jessica Cisneros (TX-28). In the aftermath of one of our nation’s most devastating and senseless tragedies, the stakes for getting rid of pro-NRA politicians in Texas are higher than ever. Here is a quick recap of the results:
TX-28 Update: Jessica Cisneros is about 175 votes behind incumbent opponent Henry Cuellar. That is an EXTREMELY thin margin, and votes are still being counted. The Cisneros campaign is not giving up the fight and neither will we.
-
Cuellar has an A rating from the NRA.
-
He is an anti-choice “Democrat.”
-
He votes with his Republican colleagues in Congress more than 60% of the time.
Needless to say, we will be supporting Cisneros in her fight to count every vote until the very end. Can you help us keep up the fight by making a rush donation of $25 to our Primary Fund right now? →

Good news: Claudia Zapata WILL be the Democratic nominee for Texas district 21. That means she will be up against incumbent Chip Roy – a Republican extremist who voted against funding for the baby formula crisis, even though Texas has been hit hard by the shortage. If elected, Claudia will be the FIRST woman to hold this seat.
