John,
Last night, I appeared alongside my opponents for a climate-focused debate — centered around how the candidates will address the climate crisis as Massachusetts' next Attorney General.
I am proud to have called for this debate to happen. I am grateful to the 1,000+ people who signed our petition and used their voices to call on our future elected officials to address climate change.
The Attorney General can and should play a top role in spearheading our efforts to fight climate change.
If I am elected as the next Attorney General, I am committed to establishing a Green Bank that will be funded by penalties from the polluters who have knowingly harmed our communities for decades while they’ve made millions from corporate greed.
I will build upon the work done by AG Healey to hold corporations like ExxonMobil accountable. I know what it takes to change the behavior of these industries — because I’ve gone up against them in court.
And I promise you this: I will never accept contributions from fossil fuel executives and lobbyists.
I will be an Attorney General who will fight for the people of Massachusetts, not corporations who want to keep profiting from harming us and perpetuating the climate crisis.
I am proud to be in this race and to be fighting alongside all of you. We cannot just take incremental steps forward. We must take real action, building upon the work we already have done in this state, and lead.
But I can’t do it alone and it’s not about me. It’s about all of us coming together to help build this movement. Please chip in what you can to help us keep organizing and win this election. Every dollar you gives helps us get one step closer to the Attorney General’s office. [[link removed]]
In solidarity,
Shannon
