I’ve spent my career doing the hard thing, even under great pressure from special interests who think they own Congress.
I got a clear message for those big money donors and a sitting representative who is running against me and claiming this seat belongs to them: nobody owns the 12th District – it belongs to the people of New York. This is a democracy, and the honor of serving the people must be earned.
That’s exactly what I plan on doing – running and winning in the district I live in and have represented a large part of since I was elected to Congress.
