Dear John,

You know the immigration situation is bad. We just got some more information about just how bad it is. And I wanted to give you some hope that together, we can do something about it. First, here are the numbers:

Almost a quarter of a million. That's the number of encounters the U.S. Customs and Border Protection had with illegal aliens in the month of April alone (234,088, to be precise). That's the most ever recorded in a single month. Lately, it's been one record-breaking month after another.

950 thousand. We also just learned that nearly a million illegal aliens have been released into the interior by the Biden Administration, just this fiscal year (since October 1). And it's only May. That's even with the help of Title 42, which is supposed to bar entry to the United States while the coronavirus is still epidemic.

1.8 million. That's how many illegal alien expulsions have occurred under Title 42 since the start of the pandemic in March of 2020. For now, court orders have prevented the Biden Administration from ending the use of Title 42, but we urgently need to replace it!

Twenty-two thousand. That's how many encounters Customs and Border Patrol had just last weekend. 50,000 more are amassed right now to flood the borders, according to news reports, brought there by the belief that Title 42 would be ending.

70 percent. That's how far criminal-alien removals have fallen since 2020. Remember when the Obama-Biden administration argued that ignoring workplace enforcement would allow them to focus on getting rid of the really serious criminals? Removal of illegal aliens for weapons offenses are down 50%. Removals for human trafficking are also down by almost half. In fact, even removals for murder are way down, despite a soaring murder rate.

Now I've got a good number for you.

68 percent. That's how many Americans recognize that there is a crisis on the Southern border, according to the most recent CNN poll. And voters demand more than just border enforcement. According to a Rasmussen poll, 65 percent want mandatory E-Verify for all employers, including 65 percent of blacks, 60 percent of Hispanics, 65 percent of Independents and even 55 percent of Democrats. Only 18 percent of all voters oppose.

Here's another number that you can help with:

$156,000. That's our goal for our current matching campaign. Some of our major donors have pledged $78,000, if we can raise another $78,000 from members like you.

If you've been waiting for the right time to give to NumbersUSA, that time is now. Can you give $3 or even $25? If you can give $25, through your generosity and the generosity of our matching donors, we'll get $50.

The Democratic leadership, including Pres. Biden, miscalculated. They thought America was too preoccupied with coronavirus and the economy to focus on immigration. Well, they were wrong because massive, uncontrolled immigration worsens economic problems like wage deflation, resource depletion, the skill level of the labor pool, and the boom-bust cycle of housing costs and availability.

I want to be clear on this point: we DO NOT fundraise for electoral campaigns. We are very careful to be NON-PARTISAN! We've had more success overall enjoining Republican officials to our mission goals, but we also need Democratic support if we are to succeed. So we're making special efforts to reach out to Democratic voters, particularly in border states, to help them further understand the harmful effect immigration has on the issues they care about... like resource depletion, environmental protection, fair wages, employment and the massive increases in demand for social services left largely to these border states to deal with. Of course, as already suggested in the earlier stated poll results, most Democratic voters already are concerned about these problems.

Right now, we're letting voters of all partisan leanings know what candidates have done and promised to do on immigration issues. We have been especially active lately in Alabama, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. See, for many, many years we've kept track of every immigration position and vote by every member of Congress and every candidate.

When we say an elected official is a True Reformer, we've looked at not only what they claim they support, but what they've actually done, not only by their votes, but by the proposed legislation they've sponsored. We seek Members of Congress who will block bad legislation, yes, but also who are willing to fight the status quo and actually get things done!

If we join together, we can make Washington work for Americans again.

Let me share some more numbers with you:

1.5 billion. That's how many times voters have chosen to view or watch a NumbersUSA social-media post.

1.1 billion. That's how many emails people have willingly received from NumbersUSA.

3.1 million. That's how many candidate comparisons we've sent out.

16. That's how many organizations have joined with NumbersUSA to demand of Congress a flagship border-surge bill.

What are we doing right now?

That flagship bill I mentioned above is designed to make sure that the next Congress actually makes substantial reforms to drastically reduce the current border surge.

We're trying to make sure that the America COMPETES Act does not include greatly increased immigration for, among others, Chinese workers to dominate our tech industry.

We need to continue Title 42 to prevent those 1.8 MILLION illegal aliens from coming back as soon as it expires. But we're also pushing for far more effective legislation, letting Senators know that Title 42 has been insufficient.

But the most important thing we're doing is helping American voters convince their Members of Congress that the status quo of massively high rates of legal and illegal immigration is harmful.

Please help us. Right now is a great time: Our major donors have challenged you to pitch in to help match their $78,000 matching grant, so we'll receive $156,000 to restore immigration sanity.
