Scott Pruitt, Trump’s former head of the Environmental Protection Agency, has announced he is running for the Senate in Oklahoma.

His brief tenure in the Trump administration was riddled with scandal and corruption. He used taxpayer’s dollars to fly first-class and took a discount on a condo from a DC lobbyist’s spouse. Pruitt even used EPA staff for personal needs like looking for housing, booking personal travel, and going on the job hunt for his wife.

And as the EPA chief, Scott Pruitt was no friend of the environment. He took every opportunity to side with oil and gas companies by stacking advisory boards with their representatives. He dismantled dozens of clean air and water rules and scrubbed the EPA’s website of all climate change content.

The damages left by Pruitt are still being felt by the EPA today.

After leaving the EPA in 2018 in the face of these scandals, it was obvious that Pruitt had abused his position of power for his own personal gain. And now, Pruitt says he’s ready to return to DC to represent Oklahoma.

John, we know what a Senator Pruitt would mean: more rollbacks and stagnation for climate action and new scandals and abuse of power. He’s not interested in representing the people of Oklahoma. He’s only interested in himself and boosting his Big Oil buddies’ profits.
