Hi John,

With the primary election behind us, our campaign is quickly gearing up for the general election and the many challenges ahead. Before things get too busy, I wanted to take a moment to share why I’m in this fight, and how I know come November, our people-powered campaign will defeat right-wing extremism in western Pennsylvania.

I got involved in this race because I believe in fighting for our common good, but what does that mean? To me, common good means putting people first.

It means having a government that builds the best infrastructure in the world, and having our union brothers and sisters building it. It means protecting the right to an abortion before we have right-wing legislatures banning it and putting people in prison. It means never again sending young Americans off to unnecessary wars. It means taking on the unchecked corporate power that’s killed our communities, hurt workers, and crushed small businesses. It means protecting the union way of life so that every worker in our region can form a union freely, with no more union-busting.

My opponent, Jeremy Shaffer, has no answers for the problems we’re facing. Shaffer and the radical right are happy to leave working folks behind, because they care more about power than they care about all of us here in Western Pennsylvania.

He wants to overturn Roe v. Wade and favors a nationwide ban even in cases of rape and incest. He opposes the Equality Act and wants our LGBTQ friends and neighbors to have to live in the shadows. He wants to kill the union way of life, and he would ship your job overseas in a heartbeat if it meant a penny more in profit. And when his QAnon and insurrectionist supporters come again to attack the Capitol, our democracy, and the integrity of our elections – along with the Constitution my buddies and I swore an oath to defend – do you know what Jeremy Shaffer will do? Absolutely nothing.

Western Pennsylvanians deserve better than Jeremy Shaffer. I’m ready to rise to this occasion and fight for our common good.

This passion comes from a simple place for me: I love this country – I was willing to die for it. And I believe that an America that works for everyone is something worth fighting for.

Let’s make this country the land of hopes and dreams for all of us, and let’s get to work.

Thank you for your time,

Chris Deluzio

PS. With so much momentum coming from our primary election win, we are on pace to raise $10,000 in grassroots donations this month. If you’re able to chip in even just $5 before May ends, it could help us cross that finish line.
