Friend,
On Tuesday, a gunman murdered 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas – now the second-deadliest school shooting in our country's history.
As a mom, I'm devastated for these young children who are gone, for the families whose loved ones were taken from them, and for the students whose lives will never be the same. I'm heartbroken for this entire community that has been shattered by gun violence this week.
As a U.S. Senator, I'm more determined than ever to push for action on commonsense legislation that will put a stop to these tragedies. America simply cannot continue to be the only country in the world where this is allowed to happen.
Our schools. Our grocery stores. Our concerts and movie theaters. Where does it end? How many more lives must be taken? Enough is enough.
These senseless mass shootings and acts of gun violence are preventable, but only if the Senate finally takes action – and we must.
For those in Uvalde, in Buffalo, in Las Vegas, and the countless other communities torn apart by gun violence, I promise that I will keep fighting in the Senate to find a path forward and build a safer future for our children and families.
