Friend — my heart breaks for the parents who lost their babies and for the entire Uvalde, Texas, community. 

As the reports rolled in, and the number of children and teachers who died went up and up, I can’t describe the horror and anger Paul and I felt. Nineteen children and two teachers were lost in this senseless tragedy – part of a horrific pattern of gun violence that we cannot allow to continue. 

The American people are crying out for us to act. They’ve seen the plague of gun violence strike in every corner of this country. Yet Mitch McConnell and others beholden to the gun lobby refuse to work with us to do something. They sit by following the gun lobby’s marching orders while our loved ones are stolen from us.

Enough is enough. I’m asking you to stand with me and demand common sense gun safety legislation now.
