Team —
What happened in Georgia this week is a good thing, but let's not celebrate yet.
Jody Hice, Trump’s handpicked candidate for Georgia secretary of state, was beat by Brad Raffensperger — the Republican who refused to do Trump’s bidding in the last election. But the reality is, it gets a lot tougher from here — Trump acolytes have much better chances in states like Arizona and Nevada, which are open seats, and in places like Colorado, Michigan, and Wisconsin. And they only need to win ONE of these states to throw a close 2024 election into chaos.
Our first monthly fundraising deadline is just a few days away, a critical early test for this organization. Will you chip in to kickstart The American SOS Project and help defeat candidates like Jody Hice wherever they pop their heads up?
Jody Hice spent the last year and a half spouting lies about the 2020 election. If somebody on the internet invented a conspiracy theory to explain Trump’s loss, you can bet that Jody Hice repeated it.
That’s why Trump recruited candidates like Hice all over the country. He wants lap dogs in these positions to oversee our elections, because it’s the only way he can be sure that he can’t lose the next election. In Georgia, Hice was up against an incumbent — that won’t be true in several other key states.
The secretary of state elections this November are the battleground for the future of our democracy. We can’t afford to look back and wish we did more in moments like this.
Before our first-ever fundraising deadline, will you invest in this critical, democracy-saving work and stop Trump and his lap dogs in their tracks?
This is our first big test as an organization. People like you give me faith that we won’t fall short.
Thank you,
Amy
