I'm going to get straight to the point, Team.

Republicans are stopping us from protecting our kids from guns in school.

Republicans refuse to even discuss commonsense solutions that would keep dangerous people from accessing guns, like the teenager who killed 19 elementary students and two teachers in Uvalde, Texas this week.

The day after the tragic Uvalde elementary school shooting, Republican state senators rejected two bills on safe gun storage. Republican Senator Ken Horn said it was "way too early" to vote on the bills, which were introduced six months ago in the wake of the Oxford school shooting.

GOP gubernatorial candidates are equally disappointing.

- Out-of-touch millionaire Kevin Rinke wants to make Michigan a “constitutional carry” state, where anyone can have concealed weapons without a permit.
- Garrett Soldano wants to put more guns in grade schools. His campaign even held an AR-15 giveaway contest.
- James Craig wants to arm teachers and recently said, “I’m going to reject the thing about gun control.”
- Tudor Dixon made a vow to “always protect and defend the second amendment.”

Michigan students, parents, and educators won't be able to count on any Michigan Republican to support commonsense measures to prevent the next massacre from happening. In the face of inaction and blame games from the GOP it's time to come together as Democrats to elect the leaders, fighters, and doers our nation needs to move change forward.

We are on the frontlines in the fight to send Michigan Democrats to Lansing and Washington D.C. who are ready to pass commonsense gun reform legislation that will keep kids safe in school, minimize the anxiety growing for Michiganders when they go to supermarkets, and stop the dangerous Republican agenda.

It's going to take all of us coming together to elect Michigan Democrats and stop extremist Republicans and their dangerous agenda that puts Michiganders at risk of gun violence.
