** LIFT the BAR Act Introduction Soon –
Last Days to Sign-On!

We are excited to share that we expect the LIFT the BAR Act to be introduced in the Senate any day now! We have a few days left to gather signatures on our sign-on letter, and we encourage you to join us if you haven’t already! ([link removed])
For 25 years, a policy known as the “five-year bar ([link removed]) ” has denied lawfully present immigrant families of color access to critical health and social services. The impending Senate introduction of the LIFT the BAR Act gives us another opportunity to signal the strength of our network and the unity of our movement. To do this, we are (re)circulating a sign on letter ([link removed]) to Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Schumer in support of the LIFT the BAR sign-on in advance of the expected introduction. Any national, state or local organizations who have not already signed on should take this opportunity tojoin our letter by COB Friday, May 27th! ([link removed])
** White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health Regional Listening Sessions.

The White House is announcing virtual, regional listening sessions to hear the community’s ideas and experiences with hunger and diet-related diseases in our communities in the lead up to the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health which will be hosted in September.
These listening sessions are open to the public. Please register using the links below, and we encourage you to register for the region you live in.
