Our Participants Receive Access to Stable Housing

The transformation of Families in Transition's new Union Street building, formerly known as Angie's Shelter for Women, is complete! This building redevelopment now serves as a housing solution to prioritized people transitioning from our Adult Emergency Shelter. The eleven affordable housing units include seven studio apartments and four one-bedroom apartments. Long-term success within these units will be aided by case management and other supportive services. We are so excited to help our participants achieve their goal of having a place to call home.

The Walk was a huge success!

Over 500 walkers and over 50 teams, along with many sponsors, donors, and volunteers joined us to support the Walk Against Hunger. This allowed us to raise more than $125,000 to support the mission to prevent and break the cycle of homelessness. We were also fortunate to receive over 39 lbs. of donated ground coffee, a consistent item on our High Needs list. This event was a huge success because of everyone's hard work, dedication and passion for helping those in our community most vulnerable to homelessness and food insecurity. Thank you to all of those involved!

Exciting Updates in the World of Volunteering

Volunteer Platform - In an effort to create a more efficient and user-friendly experience for our volunteers, we are in the process of upgrading and enhancing our volunteer platform. Due to launch in the coming weeks, this will allow our volunteers to better search for opportunities, navigate shifts, and manage their volunteer impact in a much more user-friendly manner!

Volunteer Recognition Program - Because we know our volunteers' impact and experience go hand in hand, we’ve developed a new recognition program that both honors and celebrates the continued and ongoing commitment of our volunteers. Later this year, we will be awarding and recognizing our volunteers with branded name tags, shirts, and other Families in Transition branded gear.

National Volunteer Appreciation Week - Our dedicated volunteers gave us so much to celebrate during National Volunteer Month! We were able to virtually gather together during volunteer week and hear from people around the agency about the incredible impact they have on our mission.

Volunteer Opportunities Available - Help us continue to support the needs of families and individuals in the community who are most vulnerable to homelessness and food insecurity as a volunteer. Sign up for a volunteer role at [link removed]
