For many, Black Friday is a day to take advantage of steep discounts and special sales to kick off the holiday shopping season.

For others, this Friday is no different than many before it: another day separated from their families, facing obstacles to their rights, and fighting for their freedoms.

For MLFA Beneficiary Hamid Hayat, this was his reality for the past 14 years. This year, thanks to your support, he’s reunited with his family and counting his blessings despite all the hardship he’s endured, spending many Fridays in a federal penitentiary for a crime he did not commit.
