Annual U.S. security assistance to Israel is an essential component of America’s national security strategy.
This assistance keeps our ally safe, creates American jobs, and protects American interests abroad.
Cutting American security assistance to Israel would be detrimental to Israel’s security given the threats facing the Jewish State:
To Israel’s north, Hezbollah has an arsenal of more than 150,000 missiles and rockets—some of which are capable of precisely targeting any location in Israel. Earlier this year, Hezbollah launched two drones into Israel, two days after its leader revealed the terror group is now manufacturing military drones in Lebanon.
To the south, Israelis are just one year removed from the Hamas onslaught that saw 4,300 rockets fired at their homes over 11 days. Hamas also sent waves of firebombs (burning 3,200 acres) and fomented riots at the Israel-Gaza border.
To the east, Iran has begun enriching uranium to 60% purity while continuing to restrict inspectors from fully monitoring its illicit nuclear program. The Iranian regime has also expanded its regional aggression. Since mid-January, Iran and its proxy terror forces have launched nine drone attacks against Israel and our allies across the region.
And inside Israel, 19 Israelis have been killed in recent months in a burst of terrorist attacks on Israel's streets. Hamas and Islamic Jihad have praised these shooting, stabbing, car ramming and axe attacks, calling them "heroic operations" and urging more such attacks.
This is NOT the moment to weaken the alliance between America and our only democratic friend in the Middle East.
Now is the time to accelerate our advocacy, not retreat from it.
Our May deadline is just 5 days away, and we are $11,916 short of our goal.
