Greetings from the campaign trail! We are just over two weeks away from the June 14 Primary Election and we have had an incredible amount of fun meeting and listening to voters all over the state. As my odometer nears the 8000-mile mark since we started the campaign for Secretary of State, getting an oil change has been a regular campaign activity!

The message on the campaign trail has been clear: North Dakotans want to remain in charge of North Dakota’s elections. Preserving and protecting the integrity of our elections is paramount in gaining the public’s trust in our election process. But as you know, there are efforts outside of North Dakota to nationalize that process. In President Biden’s State of the Union address in March, he asked Congress to continue pursuing efforts to ban voter ID laws, allow non-US citizens to vote, and allow ballots to be counted weeks after election day.

I have been proud to support legislation that ensures only U.S. citizens participate in our elections, I have supported our voter ID laws, and I supported legislation that bans private dollars to fund our public elections. As Secretary of State, I will ensure that our North Dakota election laws remain on the books, not California’s or New York’s laws.

The Secretary of State’s office is the front door to every new business. Through decades of Republican leadership in North Dakota we have had low taxes and a stable regulatory environment. I will ensure that the Secretary of State’s office is doing our part in making North Dakota the easiest place to start a business.

Thank you to all who have made this campaign so enjoyable. Traveling from Williston to Wahpeton and so many points in between, my appreciation for our state and its people continues to grow. However, there is still work to be done!

It would be an incredible privilege to serve as your next Secretary of State, and I am asking for your vote on June 14.
