Common Counsel Foundation and Native Americans in Philanthropy are pleased to announce that the Native Voices Rising 2022 grant pool is now open, for both donors to contribute to the fund and nonprofits to submit applications for funding. We are honored for the ongoing support of community and funder partners to mark this 10th anniversary of Native Voices Rising grantmaking.
About this funding cycle
Native Voices Rising is expecting to make general operating grants that will average $30,000 and will range between $20,000 to $40,000. Grant awards will be made to Native-led groups that have a membership base in the community, work to develop leadership, and take collective action to win progressive social change. These groups are working across the country to improve the lives of Native communities through organizing and advocacy efforts.

About our grantmaking
Central to Native Voices Rising is a community-led grantmaking approach with Native community members empowered to make grant decisions. Since its inception, NVR has awarded $5.5M of grants to 145+ Native-led, grassroots organizations. These grant partners are collectively engaging tens of thousands of Native community members across the country while focusing on a wide range of critical issues - including environmental & climate justice, health & healing, voter & civic engagement, and youth & intergenerational engagement.

Potential grant partners can find application and eligibility guidelines here.

More information on how to apply can be found at NativeVoicesRising.org.

The application deadline is Friday, July 15, 2022, at 11:59pm PST.
Applications can be accessed on the online grant portal.

Contribute to the Native Voices Rising Pooled Fund

We invite those interested in donating to support Native-led change to join the pooled funding of Native Voices Rising.

By investing in Native Voices Rising, donors shift power to Native community leaders by way of NVR’s participatory grantmaking process and become part of a learning community aiming to increase the knowledge and visibility of Native communities. Tax-deductible contributions can be made online at Common Counsel Foundation staff or by visiting NativeVoicesRising.org.
