I am greatly saddened by the tragic events that have occurred in our nation over the past two weeks.
Ten innocent Americans last week in Buffalo, 19 children and two adults yesterday in Texas. With more than 17,000 gun deaths in 2022 alone, we need action.
We must address gun violence as a public health crisis. I refuse to accept these shootings as the new status quo. Ban assault weapons. Institute universal background checks. Close the Charleston Loophole.
We’ve seen thoughts and prayers for too long. It’s time for policy and action.
