Dear Friends & Patriots,
As you probably know by now, the outcome of the election was certainly not what he had hoped for. Yesterday evening, I called and congratulated Herschel Walker on an overwhelming and historic victory the likes this state has never seen before. I assured him that we’re all behind him in his bid to unseat Raphael Warnock.
We are forever grateful and inspired by all of you who prayed, contributed, volunteered, and trusted me with your vote. While we were disappointed by the results, I am proud of what we achieved in such a short period of time. Even though we came in the race very late and were out spent MANY times over, we still managed to put together an impressive campaign.
I have always believed you can’t talk about fiscal responsibility unless you walk the talk in the campaign. I’m proud that, when compared to others in the race, we had a much better return on investment in terms of votes cast per dollar invested. Rather than spend BIG dollars on consultants, we relied upon volunteer staff, many of whom not only gave up their jobs, but also helped fund the campaign. As a team we put together an impressive grassroots campaign and traveled tens of thousands of miles across the state. Our goal was not just to win, but to inspire Americans to stand up and overcome the challenges before us before it’s too late. To that end, I believe we were wildly successful!
I would like to give a huge shout out to my wife who constantly inspired me with her passion and willingness to make any sacrifice necessary to fight for the next generation. I am so grateful to our children who understand what’s at stake at this time in our country and were willing to sacrifice and work tirelessly beside us. While the sacrifice was great for everyone from volunteers to donors, I think we all agree that it pails when compared to millions of patriots who have given their very lives for our freedom.
Also, I am grateful that our campaign helped spark discussions amongst Georgians about the difficult but important topics we all face including: securing our borders, reducing our national debt, securing elections, fighting the liberal indoctrination of our children, upholding the vital rights enshrined in the Constitution, and even discussing the danger of identity politics within our own party. It was a privilege to share the debate stage alongside four other candidates who also love this country, even if we have differing ideas in how to go about solving the issues.
I believe that failure often teaches us more than success and often serves as a catalyst to greater opportunities down the road. I’ve always been inspired by President Reagan, who failed twice running for office, and Abraham Lincoln, who lost multiple elections before leading America through one of its darkest times. I’m reminded that the most important thing isn’t outward success, but being obedient to God’s calling. Even though I have volunteered on many campaigns, including running my own successful campaigns, I’ve never seen a campaign where so many sacrificed so much. I will always be inspired and forever positively changed by this experience. I am also grateful for the opportunity we had to share our faith, encourage other patriots, and even lead a couple to salvation in Jesus Christ. I’m reminded of the words of Jesus, “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)
Even though this may appear at the moment to be a setback, I believe God will work it together for good according to Romans 8:28. There is much work to do and my fire and passion to help save this country is stronger than ever. As freedom loving patriots I pray that we will continue forward in the fight to secure the blessings of liberty for the next generation, even if it involves great personal sacrifice. I am excited for the journey ahead as the Lord reveals the next steps for our family.
Thank you again for all you’ve sacrificed and may we always remember JFK’s words, “Ask not what can your country do for you, but what you can do for your country”!
