At least 21 people, including 19 children were killed in yet another mass shooting yesterday. Our condolences go out to the families and every person impacted by this senseless act of gun violence.
Of course, after offering the usual, meaningless "thoughts and prayers," Texas Governor Greg Abbott is already gearing up to do what Republicans usually do about gun violence: helping the NRA make such violence easier. In fact, Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz will be speaking at the annual NRA convention in Houston this Friday.
That's why earlier today Beto O’Rourke confronted Texas Governor Greg Abbott in the middle of a news conference on the Texas school shooting, saying “The time to stop the next shooting is right now and you are doing nothing.”

It's been almost ten years since Sandy Hook and now more children have become victims of a completely preventable act of violence.
Republican elected officials offer their thoughts and prayers. They lower flags to half-staff. But they will never act to stop gun violence and mass shootings. So we must remove them from office -- and replace them with candidates who aren't afraid to change gun laws.
