Team,

Yesterday’s news from Uvalde, Texas is heartbreaking.

The lives of nineteen innocent children and two teachers were taken, making it the second deadliest K-12 school shooting in U.S history.

My heart breaks for these kids, these families, these teachers, and this community. No child or educator should feel unsafe in their classroom. But we know gun violence continues to claim lives and cause terror across our country each and every day.

Let's be clear: Our thoughts and prayers are simply not enough because there IS something that can be done about this. We are not powerless in this situation. We need to act now to pass common-sense gun safety reform. I will continue to do everything possible to get legislation passed and ensure the gun lobby no longer prevents us from taking meaningful action that can save lives.

My heart stays with the students, families, and the entire community of Robb Elementary. We must fight with everything we've got to reject the status quo and prioritize people's lives and public safety.

Thank you,

Chris Pappas
