Our hearts are broken for the community in Uvalde, Texas after a mass shooting claimed the lives of 19 students and two teachers. This sort of tragedy cannot continue to happen and we need to do everything in our power to prevent it.

While we need time to properly mourn, we cannot allow ourselves to fall into the same routine of complacency, allowing another tragedy like this to happen in the future. Here’s the simple truth: we know that Republican AGs aren’t going to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals.

We have an opportunity to elect two Democratic AGs that will advocate for common sense gun safety. Rochelle Garza in Texas and Jen Jordan in Georgia have won their respective Democratic primaries for state attorney general. When elected, Jen and Rochelle will be powerful advocates for gun safety. We need them now more than ever.
