Here we are again, John.

We have witnessed yet another devastating massacre -- this time at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas where 19 children and two teachers were murdered by an AR-15 wielding shooter.

My heart and Chrissy’s go out to the victims and their families. As is often the case in the aftermath of these horrifying events, parents across the country are all holding their kids a little tighter than usual. And when we drop them off at school -- as I did with my fourth and second graders this morning -- we do so with an added sense of hesitation and fear.

I'm angry and disgusted that our kids are growing up in a country where they have to worry about being "next" when they arrive at school. Common sense reforms must become law. They have already passed in the House, and the President is ready to sign.

It's time for the Senate to act, and to those Senators who are bought and paid for by the gun lobby and refuse to make an exception to the filibuster rule, we need to make it clear that they are part of the problem.

These are the same folks telling us it’s “too soon” to talk about action. Today is exactly when we must talk about action. This could happen in any community, and at any time.

We cannot wait another day.

Mike
