Arena Community,

We planned next month’s Arena Summit in Texas knowing that the state was at the center of some of our nation’s most critical fights.Yesterday was another reminder that it's imperative to gather there so that we can catalyze change.

It’s not normal to have to grieve the slaughter of 19 children and two teachers in an elementary school. It’s not acceptable that Greg Abbott and Texas legislators passed more than 20 laws in 2021 to loosen gun restrictions in the state. And it’s not okay to have to take this all in alone.

That’s why I want to invite you to be in community with hundreds of other progressives in Austin from June 11-12 as we strategize about how to truly make progress in this country.

The Arena Summit Texas is a unique convening of activists, organizers, changemakers, and rising leaders. It’s a chance to connect with others, grieve, find hope, and plant the seeds for a better future.

However you’re feeling – despondent, hopeful, angry, motivated – the Summit is a chance to recharge, refocus, and reimagine. Get together with others ready for a better future, and let’s collectively figure out our next steps. Register for the Arena Summit Texas before June 1.

We’ve put together a meaningful program of workshops and speakers working on the frontlines of gun violence prevention, reproductive justice, voting rights, and environmental action.

Arena Summit Texas speakers will include: Founder of Moms Demand Action Shannon Watts, activist Cecile Richards, Wendy Davis, Houston Mayoral candidate Chris Hollins, State Rep. Gina Hinojosa, Democratic nominee for TX Railroad Commissioner Luke Warford, and others from organizations including Run for Something, Crooked Media, Texas Future Project, MOVE Texas, Texas Freedom Network, Fair Fight, and dozens more. Today, is a dark day. But I know that at our darkest hours, this community has come together to light the spark for a brighter future. And we will do that again.
