The primary election has ended. Despite the historic efforts by our Republican legislature and Republican governor to suppress the vote, Georgians have stated loudly and clearly that they will not be silenced.
Looking at what we’ve achieved together, I hope you feel the sense of accomplishment that I feel. I’m proud to represent the people of Georgia’s fourth district, and I’m proud to have you as part of my team. So thank you, John, for your encouragement, your ideas and your belief in a better future. Your support has meant the world to me.
I also want to thank my campaign staff, and to let you know just how hard they’ve been working on behalf of the fourth district. I am truly fortunate to have a team of staffers who not only share a hopeful vision of the future, but who work day-in and day-out to make it a reality.
Because I ran unopposed in the primary this year, I’ve been focused on turning out the vote and helping our other Democratic candidates build on Georgia’s already outstanding voter base so that bold, progressive leaders can win statewide in November.
Today, the general election begins, and the work will continue. The eyes of the nation are on Georgia again this year, as our home has become the battleground for the soul of America. Together, we will vindicate and validate the nation’s faith in our state.
But right now, my only request is that you take a moment to reflect on the good you’ve helped to bring about, and the positive difference your engagement has made in people’s lives. We are in it to win it – and I’m grateful that we’re in it together.
Thank you again, John.
