If elementary schools aren’t safe from gun violence, no workplace is safe. Working people lose loved ones to gun violence every day. Unions are the community—so this is our issue and we must take action.
End gun violence. AFL-CIO

John,

Ten days ago: A shooting at a Tops Friendly Markets store targeting the Black community.

Yesterday: A shooting at Robb Elementary School targeting children.

Every day, our country loses people to gun violence.

What else is there to say?

Words aren’t enough; we must act.

We must create laws that stop these preventable deaths.

This is a workplace issue. This is a school issue. This is a community issue.

That makes it a labor issue. And we must act.

These mass shootings are a stark reminder of why the Senate must stop hiding behind arcane procedures to avoid preventing gun violence and take action.

Because working people deserve safe workplaces without fear of a mass shooting. And America’s children deserve to learn and thrive in safe schools.

In Solidarity,

Team AFL-CIO
