Friend,
Yesterday, the country watched in horror as an armed assailant slaughtered nineteen elementary-school children and two teachers in cold blood. Now the community of Uvalde is left to reconcile with the unimaginable trauma of losing innocent young lives in an act of senseless violence.
My heart breaks for these children and their families. I am praying for them.
But thoughts and prayers aren’t enough. The time to act is now. We can, and must, do better to protect our communities.

Sadly, what we witnessed in Uvalde is alarmingly commonplace in the United States. There’s been more than one mass shooting per day in 2022, with each taking the lives of four or more people.
But as long as Senate Republicans have the power to block gun safety legislation using the filibuster, we can’t expect to see any change on the federal level.
We can’t go on like this. We can’t allow this to happen again. Sign if you agree: It’s time to abolish the filibuster and pass common-sense gun safety legislation.
