John asked me to write to you. My name is Sable — I run our campaign’s voter mobilization program. I’m a proud Marylander from Prince George’s County, and I’m an organizer committed to moving my state toward a more equitable and diverse future by electing John King as Maryland’s first Black governor.

But here’s the deal. In just 13 days, John faces a critical test: our biggest public fundraising deadline to-date. On June 7th, our campaign is required to publicly file our fundraising numbers with the Maryland Board of Elections.

That means, everyone – from our opponents to reporters to undecided voters – will see how much we’ve raised. So if we want to make history and elect Maryland’s first Black governor, I need your help to show all those folks we have what it takes to win. 2. We’re 43 days out from the start of early voting.
3. Our team doesn’t like to talk about it, but our biggest weakness right now is pure name recognition.
4. This race is going to come down to turnout so we need the resources to up our TV and digital ads immediately in order to get John and our message in front of as many Marylanders as we can over the next 8 weeks.

As one of the people on this team overseeing our voter outreach, I can assure you every dollar you give to John’s campaign will be put to immediate use in the most effective way possible.
