Take action and find resources related to Catholic Social Teaching in the wake of the school shooting yesterday in Uvalde, Texas.

John -

We are heartbroken, fearful, angry, and weary as we grapple with the continued epidemic of gun violence in the U.S., particularly as we are again horrified by the loss of children’s lives—yesterday in Uvalde, Texas—and in the wake of this month’s shootings in Buffalo and Laguna Woods.

As a network of individuals and institutions committed to justice and peace, we join the entire country in our outrage that our nation has not committed itself to ending such tragedy and horror, and in praying for the victims, their families, and those responsible—and in hope that we can collectively take action ([link removed]) to reduce gun violence.
Tell Lawmakers: We Must End Gun Violence ([link removed])

Gun policy is not a core issue area of the Ignatian Solidarity Network. However, we feel it is essential to create a pathway for our network to express their weariness, fear, and anger to their elected officials, letting them know that people of faith demand action to drastically reduce gun violence in our country. This call to action lifts up key policy requests made by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops ([link removed]) in 2019.

Please click here ([link removed]) to send a message to your members of Congress and President Biden. The message acknowledges the pain of this moment and identifies policy areas for action that can lead to positive change.

Peace,
Christopher G. Kerr
Executive Director

Take Action: Reduce Gun Violence ([link removed])

In response to the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, tell President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the U.S. Senate to take swift action to address and end gun violence.
