I secured a win for free speech by working to stop the Disinformation Governance Board. As a result of my pressure campaign in Congress by introducing the Protecting Free Speech Act with 75 cosponsors and leading a press conference with House leadership, the Biden administration announced that Nina Jankowicz resigned and the Board was put on “pause.”
While we were successful in defending free speech from this attack, the fight is not over. The government should never be in the business of deciding what is true and this administration should start governing more like Washington and Reagan and less like Stalin and Mao. The Biden administration has been unrelenting in its assault on the First Amendment. This is America not China. I will continue to fight to ensure the people are not silenced by Biden bureaucrats and Big Tech.

Renewable Water Resources’ plan to steal the San Luis Valley’s water is dead for now.
I have been working closely with farmers, ranchers, water districts, and local officials throughout the San Luis Valley to stop this water grab. Stealing seven billion gallons of water per year from the San Luis Valley to pump to the Denver suburbs, and using $10 million of COVID money in the process, was a terrible plan.
I will continue to oppose all efforts to steal the San Luis Valley’s water, and I hope that this significant victory sends a strong message to everyone that the people of the San Luis Valley will always fight for their water, and that they fight to win.

Last week, I attended a pro-life prayer rally in front of the Supreme Court. I believe that prayer is powerful, and I prayed that our country would see a revival for the pro-life cause, that God would care for women who have suffered by believing the lie that abortion is good for them, that God would protect the justices on the Supreme Court, and that He would heal our land.
Since Roe v. Wade in 1973, over 63 million babies have been lost to abortion. I’ve personally held a baby in my hands who was born at 23 weeks at 1 pound, 8 ounces, and I know that her life has the same amount of worth as a child born at full term. On day 1, a baby has unique DNA; at 2 weeks, she has already developed brain cells; at 3 weeks, her heart begins to develop; and at 4 weeks, her arms and legs are forming.
Abortion is not a tragedy, it is an atrocity—and one that we will end in my lifetime. And it starts by choosing life. I have a waitress in my restaurant who was facing an unplanned pregnancy, and she chose life. Pro-life women support women—we don’t need abortion. We need the strength that comes from overcoming. I am pro-life because I believe that equality begins in the womb.

I was alerted by the Forest Service that they are pausing all prescribed fire operations for 90 days to conduct a review of bureaucratic protocols. This dilatory decision will only result in more catastrophic wildfires this summer as more fuel will stay on the ground. I called them out for putting bureaucratic politics and playing the blame game ahead of protecting rural communities that depend on prescribed burns for protection.
98% of all prescribed burns never have any issues. A 90-day blanket moratorium on prescribed burns in every national forest throughout the country defies science and common sense. With regard to the Simms Fire, Forest Service officials have said a prescribed burn fire treatment actually helped slow down that fire and reduce its intensity. Scientists and forestry experts have long recognized that prescribed burns play an important role in reducing the risk and severity of catastrophic wildfires. Prescribed burns are an important tool in the toolbox, and we need to actively manage our forests in order to protect our communities from devastating wildfires.
In my legislative provision signed into law, I secured $48 million for the U.S. Forest Service to actively manage our forests and address high-priority invasive species and pests like the bark beetle infestations ravaging Colorado and creating deadly wildfire hazards. I also introduced the Active Forest Management, Wildfire Prevention, and Community Protection Act to increase efforts to manage our forests while also investing resources into rural communities.
I will continue to fight to actively manage our forests, prevent wildfires, and protect our communities.

The China-controlled World Health Organization (WHO) should have zero control over America. They covered up the COVID pandemic, lied for China, and were the number one purveyor of disinformation during the early days of the pandemic. One of my first bills in Congress was to defund the WHO.
This week, I joined the House Freedom Caucus and other Members of Congress in calling out the Biden administration for its plans to join a treaty that gives the WHO control over America’s pandemic response policies. If the last two years have taught us anything, it is that public health bureaucrats should have less control over our lives. I am proud to oppose the corrupt WHO and fight this move to cede American sovereignty to international bureaucrats.

Valley Courier, Douglas County tells RWR 'No' on ARPA funding “‘This is good news for the San Luis Valley and it speaks to the hundreds and perhaps thousands of people who spoke out against this unviable proposal,’ said Senator Cleave Simpson, General Manager of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District…‘We greatly appreciate Governor Jared Polis, Attorney General Phil Weiser, Senators John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet, and Congresswoman Lauren Boebert and other leaders who joined us in this fight. We will remain vigilant to continue to monitor Douglas County’s ongoing discussions with RWR to ensure that we continue to fight this at every turn.’”
Brownfield Ag News, New Legislation Attempts To Remove Wolves From Endangered Species List “Wisconsin Congressman Tom Tiffany and Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert introduced the Trust the Science Act Tuesday, which simply requires the Secretary of the Interior to re-issue the November 2020 final rule removing the gray wolf from the list and making that final rule non-reviewable by a judge.”
Aspen Times, Building relationships in D.C. is cornerstone of Glenwood Springs grant funding strategy “On May 13, Boebert met with [Glenwood Springs officials] and discussed challenges facing Glenwood Canyon, Cottonwood Pass and the South Bridge project, [Glenwood Springs Mayor Jonathan Godes] said. ‘We had a conversation about how the canyon closing affects Glenwood Springs…such as the impact on goods and services getting into the city and how it impacts people who travel I-70 for work.’”

Serving the people of Colorado’s Third Congressional District is the greatest honor of my life. If you are having issues with a federal agency or want your voice to be heard, please come to one of our mobile office hours, and a member of my team will be happy to assist you.
My team has already worked on over 1,450 cases and delivered results for constituents, including a few of the following victories: - A couple traveling overseas was separated due to the husband testing positive for COVID. The wife contacted my office for help since her husband was detained at a quarantine facility with unsafe and unsanitary conditions. My office worked with the Department of State to convey emergency instructions to the embassy and help get the husband out of this dangerous situation.
- Due to red-tape and staffing issues at the VA—including no one answering the phones—a Silver Star veteran had gone 14 months waiting for an authorization for care. Within days of opening the case, the veteran’s condition turned to an emergency. We were able to escalate the case through the VA-VISN, and stayed in contact with the veteran over the weekend so he could get immediate help.
- Farmers raised complaints that the USDA was declining their crop loss insurance claims due to "failure to irrigate" during a drought. My district staff contacted the agency and worked to have the issue resolved so that farmers' claims could be paid.
- A Grand Junction small business' EIDL loan was denied by the Small Business Administration (SBA) without justification. My office contacted the SBA to get them to re-look at the case and reverse their decision and grant the EIDL loan and save the small business from going under.
My team will be available to help constituents who aren’t getting answers from federal agencies, like veterans seeking to get the care they earned from the VA, travelers that need expedited assistance to receive a passport on short notice, taxpayers being harassed by the IRS, senior citizens having issues with the Social Security Administration or Medicare, and more.
Upcoming mobile office hours will be held at the following times and locations:
FRIDAY, MAY 27, 2022 Archuleta County Mobile Office Hours Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library Small Meeting Room 811 San Juan Street Pagosa Springs, CO 10:00-12:00 pm
