Friend–

Reminder: Our D.C. Council Chair Candidate Forum is tomorrow. Join us at 6 p.m. to hear how the candidates will help achieve community safety if elected to serve the District. <[link removed]>

This is OUR D.C. It's important that we stay informed, participate when possible, and hold policymakers accountable.

See you soon,

ACLU of the District of Columbia

Friend –

For decades, D.C. has relied heavily on policing and incarceration to respond to public safety concerns. The result: significant harm to Black and brown residents and little done to reduce crime.

Achieving community safety requires leaders on the D.C. Council who will pass policies to end systemic racial and economic injustices deepened by the D.C. government’s overreliance on policing and incarceration. Achieving community safety means investing resources in communities' needs so they can be free from harm.

Join us for Virtual Candidate Forums as we ask D.C. Council At-Large and Council Chair candidates how they will help achieve community safety if elected to serve the District. All At-Large and Council Chair candidates on the June 21 primary ballot have been invited to attend.

ACHIEVING COMMUNITY SAFETY

Join us as we ask D.C. Council Chair candidates how they will help achieve community safety if elected to serve the District.
