Friend,

Uvalde. Buffalo. York. Philadelphia. Pittsburgh.

Right now, the only constant whether it's 19 kids murdered with an AR-15 in Uvalde or the teacher shot in York is too many elected officials' responses: more thoughts and prayers.

We need our elected leaders to take action, right now, to end this bloodshed. Tell them.

This devastation knows no geography, color, or creed. Yesterday, it was a school of Latino children in Texas. This weekend it was six killed in Philadelphia and a teacher in York.

Whether it's a mass shooting or the slow drip of violence, apparently our elected officials have learned maybe one thing: silence. Not one member of the PA General Assembly's Leadership like the Speaker or Senate President commented, and thanks to them, we've seen no floor votes on gun reform bills. Our reality is by political design.

I'm sickened of wondering when the next shoe will drop because of the continued inhumanity of watching bullets destroy lives without any action in Harrisburg. 

Join me in saying "We don't want your thoughts, prayers, or silence. We want action."

This isn't hard. It's been 1330 days since we disarmed abusers in that state. And the only bill that has received a vote would allow even more concealed firearms in public without any safeguards. That'd make it even easier for violence to visit our communities. It means the person at the Philadelphia park or the Erie grocery store could have a hidden weapon--and local law enforcement would not have vetted it.

As I let my son go to school this morning, I squeezed him tighter as so many parents did. And then I went to work because I want each of us to know our children are safe no matter where they are in the world. 

We will not rest until that happens.
